After a great night’s rest we ventured out to seek out the most important find of the morning…BACON, and not any bacon, but GOOD BACON!
We were in luck, just a few short miles down the road in Stamping Ground, KY was a nice little diner called Gracie’s Place…and they did have good bacon we’re happy to report!
After getting our fill, we ventured west towards Monterey, KY to head north along Hwy 127. Along the way we’ve been noticing several barns with these great designs painted on the ends.
We turn onto 127 and are almost immediately greeted with our first pickin’ stop!
Deb made the first find, this awesome German projector to convert into a lamp!
We loaded her up and went to head to the next town….and the truck decided it was done. OMG! Seriously? I turned the key again and nothing.
I looked over at Deb (aka Thelma) and she couldn’t believe it! It was only our first stop! We both bowed our head and prayed! Tried the key again…Yep, still nothing…
So, I went back down the hill and asked the nice man we just purchased the projector from if he could possibly give us a jump.
That’s him and he did, and luckily we made it to the next town just about 12 miles down the road.
We stopped at Hudnall Garage and while Tim was checking it out, we also considered getting a new truck…it said make an offer, we were very tempted!
Luckily, it was just a new battery…
…we left our vintage battery behind and got back to pickin’!
We found a great little spot with lots of vintage eye candy.
and I grabbed my first find, Breakfast Cheer Coffee can!
and we saw these, good ol’ Kentucky Bourbon barrels!
And then we saw a Barn Sale sign! We quickly made the right turn off the Hwy and Deb was so excited to finally get to cross this find off her list! (she may be spending the night in the trailer with it too)
We kept north then detoured off 127 up through Cincinatti and Dayton, OH…
…Up to the charming little town of Wapakoneta, OH to visit Donna at Thrify Treasures!
Donna is a fellow Annie Sloan Stockist and welcomed us with open arms for a visit!
It was great to see her sweet shop and sit and chat a spell!
We journeyed on, just a few more short miles up the road in Lima, Ohio (Lima, like the bean, not Peru) we’ve enjoyed a nice meal and a recap of the day and we’re saying goodnight for now! See you all on Day 3!
